Faculty/Staff Changes in Campus Phone Book
Each year, Student
Publications Inc., strives to give the K-State community an accurate Campus
Phone Book. Human Resources (HR)
provides the faculty/staff information.
The student information section of the campus phone book is provided
through the Registrar’s Office. Work on

book will include the employee’s name, campus address and phone, business title
or job title, home address and home phone.

information will be provided by Computing & Network Services (CNS).

update the degree information on line be accessing HRIS Self
Service>Employee>Tasks>Education.
Active Position Listings are

whom an employee reports to (supervisor) and if this is accurate the reports to
title and name of the supervisor will display correctly. In the past this field has been required for
all regular budgeted positions and is used for reporting purposes. We must now gather this information for all
positions and this year have included all active students with this listing. Please verify the reports to position number

In-Grade Pay Increases
Governor Sebelius recently signed Executive Directive 04-353
that allows state agencies the capability of providing in-grade pay increases
to classified employees under rare and unusual circumstances. While guidelines for implementation of this
directive are still in draft status, the probability that situations will occur
warranting application is low. At
present, a large number of employees who are represented by certified employee
organizations (KAPE, FOP) are not eligible for these increases. We will provide additional information as we
receive it. Questions should be directed
to Judy Woellhof, Classification and Employment Services, at (785) 532-1869.

Updating Contract Data
At the
beginning of each new fiscal year, the Contract Data pages in HRIS are
automatically updated for regular unclassified employees. A new row has been added for fiscal year 2005 based on the
months basis for these employees.
The only on-line entry required
by department personnel will be for those individuals whose contract type has
changed from FY 2004 to FY 2005 and for those individuals with term contracts.
And, any time throughout the year, when a contract is renewed or changed,
on-line entry is required within 20 days from the contract begin date. For university
reports, on-line entry by July 31 for fiscal year (12-month) contracts
and August 31 for academic year (9-month) contracts is important. Instructions: http://www.ksu.edu/hr/human.resource.units/hris_manuals.html
The Division of Human Resources continues to require a copy of the contract for the employee's personnel file. In addition, if the employee's job title, compensation rate, etc. is changing a personnel transaction form is required … normally the Change or Separation Form (PER-39).
