The Fiscal Year 2010-2011 payroll funding timelines are available. A 06/13/10 effective-dated row will automatically be inserted into HRIS Payroll Funding Table to reflect the new fiscal year projects the first week of the fiscal year. Notification will be sent when this process has been completed. After this process has been completed, it will be important to check payroll funding for the first pay period of the fiscal year to insure accuracy.
Reclassifications are based on changes in duties, responsibilities, organizational structure or other factors affecting the position and not on any individual employee characteristics or qualifications.
As part of the new Pay Plan process, Classification Review Teams made up of volunteers from agency HR departments and staff from the Division of Personnel Services (DPS) have already reviewed all positions in Groups 1 and 2 for proper classification. For this reason, the State has frozen all Group 1 and 2 positions with the exception of those "where a significant change has occurred in the work being performed". The teams will begin review of the Group 3 very soon and we can expect those to be frozen as well.
Because of this comprehensive review and classification freeze, Compensation & Classification Services can only consider positions for reclassification if departments can demonstrate sound justification for the reclassification and show that there has been significant change in the duties.
