Payroll & Employment Dates
For your information a list of current payroll and employment dates are routinely published by the Division of Human Resources at http://www.k-state.edu/hr/peddates.htm.  Some of the dates included are academic year, fiscal year and summer dates.  Semester begin and end dates as well as student employment (hire) dates are also published.  In addition there is a link to the biweekly pay periods and pay dates and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) calendar.  A new section, Archived Payroll & Employment Dates has recently been added.  Questions regarding these dates may be addressed to the Division of Human Resources at (785) 532-6277.

Tuition Assistance Program for Employees
Effective June 1, 2006, the Tuition Assistance Program has been amended as follows:

1. master’s thesis or research and doctoral research are now included as credited academic course work in the Tuition Assistance Program.

2. statements of interest and support from the applicant and supervisor are no longer required as supporting documentation.

3. the Application for Tuition Assistance form (PER-32) instructions reiterate the requirement for signatures from the applicant’s immediate supervisor and department head.

4. the Tuition Assistance Program will award tuition for an undergraduate or graduate credit course (to a maximum of three credit hours per semester and/or intersession) at the full hourly tuition rate for each.

The Application for Tuition Assistance form (PER-32) and Policy and Procedures Manual Chapter 4870 have been amended to reflect these changes.  The current PER-32 form is dated 06/2006.
