Amendment to KSU
Policy and Procedures Manual, Chapter 4860 - Classified Employee Leaves
The section of this policy chapter concerning Leave Without Pay (LWOP) for classified employees has been amended
to read: "A department head may require the use of accrued vacation leave
and/or accrued sick leave before approving a leave without pay request. However, if the leave without pay absence is
for an associated Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) qualifying medical
situation, then the employee is required to use any accrued paid leave credits
toward the FMLA leave entitlement prior to being approved for leave without
pay."
The full text of classified employee leave program provisions may be found at http://www.ksu.edu/policies/ppm/4860.html.
Questions should be addressed to Joe Younger, Division of Human Resources, at (785) 532-6277.
