For plan year 2011, the Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA) HealthQuest is offering the incentive of a $50 Gift Card for completing the HealthQuest Personal Health Assessment (PHA). Remember that the Gift Card Award is a taxable fringe benefit to the plan participant for the total of all gift cards selected by or for the plan participant and their eligible dependent(s). Please remind employees that the gift card as a taxable fringe benefit will be added to one of their biweekly paychecks. This may increase the amount of taxes for one pay period only. Annual Statements for members are now available. KPERS has opted to provide these statements on line via their webpage at www.kpers.org. No paper statement will be sent, but statements can be printed from this site. At the website, choose the big turquoise LOGIN icon. Follow the steps to access your account by either entering a previously established User ID or choosing "Enroll Now." Employees need only their Date of Birth and Social Security Number to establish an account. Step by step instructions are available under Hot Topics on the HR home page.

Hiring an employee in the correct position is CRITICAL because HRIS (Human Resource Information System) is driven by position. The position is the KEY to providing information to functions within HRIS and is the KEY to providing information for the University community. The Performance Management Process requires that a Mid-Year Discussion take place between April 1 and June 30 of each year. This discussion is a face-to-face meeting between the supervisor and employee to discuss progress on objectives and performance levels on the competencies identified during the Performance Planning process. This meeting should be documented on the Performance Management Process form and the supervisor and employee sign and date the Mid-Year Discussion signature block. No paperwork needs to be submitted to Human Resources regarding this meeting.
