Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA) Gift Cards

For plan year 2011, the Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA) HealthQuest is offering the incentive of a $50 Gift Card for completing the HealthQuest Personal Health Assessment (PHA). Remember that the Gift Card Award is a taxable fringe benefit to the plan participant for the total of all gift cards selected by or for the plan participant and their eligible dependent(s). Please remind employees that the gift card as a taxable fringe benefit will be added to one of their biweekly paychecks. This may increase the amount of taxes for one pay period only. Position is Important Key in HRIS

Hiring an employee in the correct position is CRITICAL because HRIS (Human Resource Information System) is driven by position. The position is the KEY to providing information to functions within HRIS and is the KEY to providing information for the University community. The position defines essential information that is used to process time and leave, payroll, budget data, management reporting, salary surveys, etc. Read more details here: http://www.k-state.edu/hr/hris/Position_Important_Key.pdf (pdf)

Mid-Year Performance Discussions Reminder

The Performance Management Process requires that a Mid-Year Discussion take place between April 1 and June 30 of each year. This discussion is a face-to-face meeting between the supervisor and employee to discuss progress on objectives and performance levels on the competencies identified during the Performance Planning process. This meeting should be documented on the Performance Management Process form and the supervisor and employee sign and date the Mid-Year Discussion signature block. No paperwork needs to be submitted to Human Resources regarding this meeting.

If you have questions, please contact Gina Lowe at 785 532-1878 or Karla Bylund at 785 532-1869.
