A moratorium has been issued to suspend employer contributions for KPERS Death and Disability Insurance from April 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011. This moratorium is effective with the pay period beginning March 6, 2011. The Death & Disability Insurance moratorium is for the employer paid group term life (GTL) contributions only. The moratorium does not extend to Board of Regents retirement plan members who elect to continue the Death & Disability Insurance coverage while on voluntary leave without pay. If members want to continue the Death & Disability Insurance coverage while on voluntary leave without pay, the employee must remit the required contribution to the Division of Human Resources. As you may remember, in Calendar Year 2010 a moratorium was issued on KPERS Death and Disability Insurance from April 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010.
