KPERS
Death & Disability Moratorium
HB 2026, passed in the 2003 legislative session on Thursday, March 6, 2003, suspends employer contributions for KPERS Death and Disability Insurance from April 1, 2003 to June 30, 2003. This moratorium will start effective with the pay period beginning March 16, 2003 and continue through the payroll period ending June 7, 2003. We are reminded that the Death & Disability Insurance moratorium is for the employer paid contributions only. The moratorium does not extend to Board of Regents retirement plan members who elect to continue the Death & Disability Insurance coverage while on leave without pay. If members want to continue the Death & Disability Insurance coverage while on leave without pay, the employee must remit the required contribution.
