Rehiring Employees with Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit accounts are automatically inactivated 12 months after the date of termination unless a concurrent position is active. A new DA-184 (Authorization for Direct Deposit of Employee Pay) should be completed for employee rehires more than 11 months after termination to ensure continuation of the Direct Deposit. Questions may be referred to your Human Resources liaison at (785) 532-6277.

Training and Development Needs Analysis
Within the next month, a random sample of state employees will be receiving a needs analysis from the Division of Personnel Services. The primary purpose of the analysis is to identify management training and development needs in our state government. The selected employees will be provided a paper copy of the analysis. An on-line version will also be available to employees in order to provide a more efficient means to completing the analysis.

The data provided will be used to determine the training employees will receive in the future, so it is critical that your responses are candid and thorough. Thank you for your cooperation in this effort.

Updated Employee Separation Checklist
We have updated the Employee Separation Checklist (PER-24) to include deleting access to all systems connected with the university, including Foundations' Summit, HRIS, FRS, etc. or local network access. The updated PER-24 is available on the Division of Human Resources web page under Forms or at the following web site:

Graduate Student Insurance
Just a reminder…Only those students who are appointed as a graduate teaching assistant or graduate research assistant with a .5 tenths time appointment with 750 hours in work status over two consecutive semesters are eligible for the graduate student insurance. Students appointed as a graduate assistant are not eligible.

It has been brought to our attention that several graduate students have been given the insurance booklet, have applied and been told that he/she does not qualify for the graduate insurance. To help reduce frustration for all involved, we ask that you give the booklet to only those who you think will qualify based on the above requirements. If you have any questions about eligibility, please contact Shari Liming in our office at (785) 532-1890.

Official Bulletin Boards
The responsibility for the Official Bulletin Boards has been transferred to the Division of Human Resources. If you have any questions, you may contact Kris Mauck at (785) 532-6277.
