Classified Employee Performance Review Enhancement

The “Meets Expectations” rating definition has been enhanced. The KSU Policy and Procedures Manual Chapter 4080, Employee Performance Review System, has been updated to reflect this enhancement. Please share the following definition with those who supervise classified employees.

Meets Expectations (Enhanced Definition):
Overall, the employee met the key requirements of the job.  Performance consistently meets the standards of the job.

The employee demonstrates adequate performance in most areas of the job, but may need improvements in one or more areas. Initiative and outputs are generally adequate and the employee is generally competent and knowledgeable in most aspects of his/her work.

An overall Meets Expectations rating means that performance is adequate in most areas of the job. If there are any performance shortfalls, they may be attributable to newness on the job, missing or undeveloped skills or experience, and a performance recommendation should be written to focus on performance deficiencies in designated area(s).

eID Password Change Deadline is February 8 - Reminder
January 1 through February 8 is the mandatory password-change timeframe.  To change your password, visit the eid.k-state.edu website and sign in, then select the Password option.  If you've forgotten your password, call the IT Help Desk at (785) 532-7722 and verify your identity so staff can set a temporary password for you to sign in on the eID site.  Passwords not changed by the end of Wednesday, February 8, will no longer work.  As a basic security measure, previous passwords cannot be re-used for two years -- since long-term use of the same password is a poor security practice.  See the Password FAQs for details.

Long-Term Disability Brochure
A long-term disability brochure which provides a summary description of the State of Kansas long-term disability plan, effective January 1, 2006, was recently sent to departmental personnel specialists.  Please distribute these brochures to the addressee and remind them to keep this document with other personal papers (e.g. life insurance certificates, etc).

This long-term disability brochure will be provided to all newly hired benefits eligible employees attending new employee orientation.
