Creating a K-State eID (Electronic ID)
It has been brought to our attention that department personnel are creating
K-State eID´s for new employees. Creating
a K-State eID for another individual is a violation
of University policy and may compromise the individual's e-mail account and
resources on K-State's central computer system. Please review KSU
Policies and Procedures, Information Technology Usage Policy, Chapter 3420 at http://www.k-state.edu/policies/ppm/3420.html.
Steps for New Employee Registration - creating a new eID are located at: http://www.k-state.edu/hr/hrisuser.htm. Please provide these instructions to your new employees.
Note: When a student is hired as an employee, they will use the eID established as a student. There is no need for them to create another K-State eID. Questions may be directed to Alma Deutsch at almamd@ksu.edu or (785) 532-1448.**********
K-State eProfile Site Improved
The K-State eProfile site manages K-State eID
(electronic ID) details such as creating/registering an eID,
official K-State affiliation process, eID password
changes, spam filtering and e-mail forwarding.
These processes/pages have been streamlined by the Office of Mediated
Education.
In the past, the K-State eProfile site included administrative functions such as
granting privileges for those individuals who need temporary (30-day) access to
web mail and other university services prior to being hired or rehired. This support function has been moved to the eProfile Support Tools page at https://eid.k-state.edu/support.
