Establishing and Maintaining Funding Using the HRIS

A course designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for maintaining department budget/funding using the HRIS. Numerous on-line activities\scenarios will be included in this course to enable participants to maintain funding at the department level, position pool level, and position level. This course will be held in a computer lab and each participant will have access to a computer for completing activities presented in class.

Prerequisites:Be able to use a web browser that supports HRIS
Attend Activities for Developing HRIS On-Line Skills (optional)
Attend Developing HRIS On-Line Skills

  • ..Defines effective-dated records (i.e., history, current, and future)
  • ..Provides biweekly payroll processing time-lines
  • ..Describes funding distribution pages and fields
  • ..Emphasis on budget levels (i.e., department, position pool, & position)
  • ..Using earnings codes, deduction codes, & tax codes
  • ..Entering effective-dated funding transactions on-line
