Temporary Milker

Position Summary: Incumbent will work 20-30 hours per week on a varied schedule. Temporary Milker needed with varied shift and days of week. Must be able to lift 75-100 pound bales of hay, 50 pound sacks of grain and 20 pound nozzles. Must be able to push and/or persuade 1600 pound cow to comply. Knowledge of milking procedures and techniques and preventive maintenance of milking equipment needed. Ability to detect estrus and common diseases of dairy cattle, treat mastitis and other mammary diseases highly desired. Must know sanitary milking practices and unpredictability of animals. Physical exertion-considerable. The State of Kansas classification for this position is Agricultural Technician.
