Employment Services provides assistance to applicants and departments for recruitment of classified positions, above step request, acting assignment, applicant counseling, employment laws and regulations, screening, interviewing and selection guidelines, drug screening, return to work and temporary employment.
Classified positions have State of Kansas civil service job
class specifications which determine the pay grade and rate
of pay shown on the Classified
Employment Summary (pdf)
for a specific set of duties and qualifications as listed on
the position descriptions.

Unclassified faculty and staff position recruitment procedures and hourly student employee recruitment and selection procedures are documented by the Office of Affirmative Action, Recruitment and Selection Procedures.
The Graduate School provides recruitment information for Graduate Teaching and Research Assistants, and Graduate Assistants.
The local agencies and affiliates, Student Publications, Inc., K-State Student Union, Intercollegiate Athletics, Alumni Association and KSU Foundation conduct their own recruitment for positions which are not classified.
