Health Insurance

The State of Kansas (through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment-KDHE) and Kansas State University provide benefits eligible employees with health insurance plans and related programs as part of their total compensation. Enrollment in these programs is optional. The composition and enrollment period changes from time to time. These programs include:

Dental

  • Check out the KDHE Delta Dental website for more information
  • To be eligible, must be enrolled in group health insurance
  • The university and employee contribute toward the cost of coverage

Medical

  • Check out the KDHE Health Insurance website for more information
    • Enrollment and change forms found on the various medical plan homepages are not applicable for State of Kansas employees. Contact Benefits Administration, Kansas State University, for the appropriate enrollment and change forms for these programs.
  • NOTE: Employees desiring to enroll dependents are required by the State of Kansas to provide proof of relationship/dependency for each dependent. Appropriate documentation would include such items as marriage license for spouse or birth certificate for children.
  • Eligibility: (1) First day of month following 30 days of employment, (2) during annual open enrollment, or (3) within 31 days of a qualifying event.

Prescription Drug Plan

    • To be eligible, must be enrolled in group health insurance
    • The university and employee contribute toward the cost of coverage

Vision Services Plan

 

HealthQuest Rewards - Insurance Premium Discount Program

The Rewards Program is optional and employees are not required to participate in order to be covered under the State Employee Health Plan SEHP. There is no additional cost added to an employee's premium for not participating, but they will be paying the base rate (undiscounted rate) for their insurance coverage.
