Welcome to Compensation and Classification

This unit has primary responsibility for administration of the new State of Kansas Organizational Management System for classified employees, including classification, performance management, and compensation. Compensation and Classification determines the FLSA overtime exempt/non-exempt status for all classified and unclassified professional positions as well as works closely with the Office of Affirmative Action in determining whether positions fit within the classified or unclassified service. The unit also works with the Office of Affirmative Action by performing Essential Function Audits as they pertain to claims under the ADA or in the Return to Work program. Finally, the unit assists departments in performing organizational analyses to help maximize efficiency by auditing position duties and workflow within the unit/department.
