Graduate Research Assistant(GRA)/Graduate Teaching Assistant(GTA) Student Health Insurance

The Kansas State Employees Health Care Commission offers a student health insurance plan for Graduate Research Assistants (GRA) and Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA). At the election of the student employee, coverage may also include dependents.

Eligibility for the GRA/GTA insurance is determined at the beginning of each semester. For each of the fall and spring semesters, the student must be appointed as a .5 GTA or GRA or any combination of the two for a minimum of eight consecutive work weeks during that semester. For the summer session, the student must be appointed as a .5 GTA or GRA or any combination of the two for a minimum of four consecutive work weeks from June 1 through July 31.

Premiums are paid at the time of applying for coverage for each semester. Return applications/renewal notices and payment to 103 Edwards Hall.

Coverage begins the first day of the coverage period if the student enrolls during the open enrollment month. For example, eligible applications turned in on or before August 31, will have a coverage date of August 1.
