Flexible Spending Accounts

Two flexible spending accounts are offered by the State of Kansas to benefits eligible employees. It allows the employee to pay for non-reimbursed health care expenses for the employee and their immediate family members, and/or dependent daycare expenses with pretax dollars. Dependent Care:
Participation in the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account plan allows the employee to pay for dependent care (childcare) expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Health Care:
Participation in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account plan allows the employee to pay for unreimbursed medical and dental care expenses with pre tax dollars.

Eligibility: (1) First day of the month following 30 days of employment, (2) during open enrollment period, or (3) within 31 days of a qualifying event.

Funding: Employee contribution only.
