Kansas State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate/Assistant Director of the Honor and Integrity System. This position begins on July 1, 2008, and is a full-time, 10-month position. The successful candidate will assist the Director in the operation of the Honor and Integrity System on both the Manhattan and Salina campuses and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching EDCEP 502, Issues/Development and Integrity , during the fall, spring, and summer months in both face-to-face and online venues.
  • Responding to the academic integrity needs of the university community through presentations and effective communication strategies.
  • Promoting concepts of academic integrity through presentations to students and faculty on topics including plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, syllabus descriptions and definitions, addressing academic integrity issues with students, Honor & Integrity Violation reporting procedures, and Investigation and Adjudication procedures.
  • Advising the Honor and Integrity Peer Educators (HIPE) student organization. This includes attending meetings, working with students to develop student presentations for peer groups, communicating and networking with other student organizations across the university, promoting “Integrity Week” during the spring semester, and preparing and assigning HIPE members as advisors to alleged violators during the adjudication process.
  • Conducting review of allegations with students alleged to have violated the Honor Pledge, maintaining student records regarding Case Reviews and the Development and Integrity course, communicating with the University Registrar when necessary for grade adjustment purposes, and maintaining the Honor & Integrity System database of alleged violators.
  • Preparing annual reports of the educational activities associated with the Honor & Integrity System.
  • Supervising office-related personnel (Administrative Assistant, Work Study, Practicum students)
  • Assisting the Director of the Honor & Integrity System with other duties, as assigned.
  • Providing professional development for Honor Council members.

A Master's degree is required in Counseling, Education, Educational Psychology, Student Development, or a related field, though a Ph.D. is preferred. Experience is required in teaching, counseling, advising, or a related field, and knowledge of or experience with an academic integrity system is preferred. Other necessary qualifications include the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions with faculty, staff, and students; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
