Responsibilities of a Member of the Honor
Council
As a member of the Council, you will be expected to perform
several basic duties:

for new members in the fall and as new members are appointed.
- respond quickly--(honor@ksu.edu) when an Honor & Integrity System staff person
requests information, an indication of availability for case investigations
or hearing panels, or a vote on Honor Council business.
- serve as an educator--informing students and faculty about
the K-State Honor & Integrity System and its mission and policies; promoting academic
integrity on campus.
- serve as a case investigator--conducting, with a fellow Honor
Council member, investigations (gathering information) with reporter(s),
witness(es), and alleged violator(s).
- serve as a hearing panel member--hearing all information and
determining (along with four other Honor Council members and a non-voting
Chair) whether a student is responsible or not responsible for an Honor
