Whether you are dealing with your landlords or are in trouble because of a night out, K-State’s legal services can help. Consumer and Tenant Affairs deals with issues between you and your landlord, helping to keep your living situations safe, and make sure you are treated fairly. Student Legal Services provides a lawyer for students to help them understand any legal issues or help them figure out the next step in the legal process. There are other offices on campus that can also provide help and information to students with questions and concerns.
Have you been affected by biased acts or harassment? Have you been discriminated against because of your race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, economic status, or any other differences that have led to misunderstandings, hostility, and injustice? If so, the Office of Affirmative Action provides prompt and equitable resolution of your complaint.

The Office of Student Life is where students, parents, faculty, and staff can turn for help and guidance with student concerns. Our mission is to enhance the K-State student experience and promote student success in the classroom and in life.
The Office of Student Life:
The K-State Women’s Center works to promote a safe and equitable work and learning environment for all K-State students through advocacy, presentations, academic classes, training, and referral. Over 150 K-State men and women from all majors comprise the Women’s Center’s student group, W.A.R. (Wildcats Against Rape), dedicated to raising awareness and lowering the incidence of campus sexual violence. The P.E.E.R.S. (Proactive Educators for the Elimination of Rape and Sexual Violence) class is taught by the K-State Women’s Center Director and is founded on the belief that students can effectively educate each other on issues concerning rape and sexual/relationship violence. The K-State Women’s Center sexual assault advocate provides 24-hour assistance for K-State students who have been victimized by violence or who are threatened by biased, hateful, or criminal behavior. Staff members work with individuals who are filing complaints under K-State’s Policy Prohibiting Sexual Violence and with offices and agencies on and off campus who can help students with law enforcement, legal, medical, and academic concerns. We promote a healthy, caring campus through SafeZone (http://www.k-state.edu/safezone/), nonviolence works http://www.k-state.edu/nonviolence/index.htm and such projects as the Manhattan Empty Bowls Project.
