September 19, 2009

K-State faculty and students from biology, engineering, vet med and public health provided hands-on activities that demonstrate how scientists and engineers help with disaster relief and preparation. Activities included "Don't Get Blown to Oz," an introduction to design in Architectural Engineering ; "State Fair," an opportunity to discover the role public health officials play in making community decisions for human and animal health; and "Water Doctors", an exploration of the work of scientists to ensure water quality and safety after a natural disaster.

2009 GROW Summer Workshop: June 10-12

This past June 100 middle school girls spent three days on the K-State campus for our 10th annual summer workshop! We stayed in the dorms, experienced life on campus, participated in a wide variety of science and engineering hands-on activities, swam, bowled and got to know new friends. Thanks to everyone who gave their time to make this event possible!
