Thank you for visiting the Industry Partner section of the GROW Website!

On this site you will find information about the many companies who have made supporting young women’s interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics a priority. Their dedication and support of GROW is greatly appreciated!

Companies who have joined the GROW network know that:

  • In 4th grade, the number of girls and boys who like math and science is about the same. But by 8th grade, twice as many boys as girls show an interest in these subjects (Educational Equity of Girls and Women, National Center for Education Statistics, 2000).
  • A study of the supply of information technology workers in the United States estimates that if the number of women in the IT work force were raised to the level of men, the shortage of IT workers that currently exists would be filled (Report of the Congressional Commission on the Advancement of Women and Minorities in Science, Engineering and Technology Development, 2000).

The GROW Project is designed to address this problem in Kansas. To date over 700 middle school girls across Kansas and surrounding states have participated in GROW events. We couldn’t do this without the support of the GROW network. Thank you to everyone involved!
