2008 GROW Summer Workshop
June 25-27
Kansas State University
The GROW Workshop is a three-day program held on the
K-State
campus. This event is designed to encourage and inspire middle school
girls
(graduating from the 6th and 7th grades in May 2008) to pursue
a future in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Participants live in the dorms during their stay and have the
opportunity to meet other girls from Kansas and other states
who are also interested in sciences & engineering. K-State
female undergraduate students serve as mentors. Two mentors
are assigned to each small group of girls
(about 10
girls in a group). They stay with their group
throughout the entire workshop.
The cost is $200 which includes housing, all
meals from lunch on Wednesday to lunch on Friday, snacks and a
t-shirt!
