GROW 2001 Summer Workshop - Electric
Signals from Our Bodies
Presented by: Dr. Daniel Marcus
Many parts of our bodies (such
as heart, skeletal muscles and nerves) produce electric signals.
Other body functions (such as breathing) that do not directly
produce their own electricity can be observed by producing
electric signals through instruments. We can use both types
of these signals as windows to observe our organs at work
in order to understand how they function in health and disease.
In this activity session, you will build a simple electric
circuit and use computerized electronic instruments to observe
electric signals from your own body.
