GROW 2001 Summer Workshop - The
Heart
Presented by: Dr. Lisa Freeman
and Dr. Philine Wangemann
Your heart beats about once every
second.. A mouse heart beats 5 times faster than your heart,
while a horse's heart beats 3 times slower. We will dissect
hearts from different species to compare their size and structure.
We will learn how electrical signals are carried from your
brain to your heart, and we will measure the surface electrical
activity of your hearts (ECG) and compare your ECG to the
ECG of the mouse, dog, horse, and elephant.
