Rebecca Hurtel, Imaging Systems Analyst, shared her personal story with the GROW group.
"My first position was with Quik Trip as a Computer Programmer. I was actually on the team that created the touch screen registers for the stores. I traveled extensively throughout the United States for the company, even landing in Atlanta GA for the Olympic Games. After visiting Wichita, I realized it as a great place to live and so relocated from Tulsa. I know that I couldn't have done any of the things I have accomplished in my life without my degrees."

Rebecca played "Money Magic", a game she created, with the girls. The game gave them education and job scenarios and showed them how far money goes in the "real world".

Katy Goering, Director of Environmental Engineering and a K-State graduate, told the girls "We use chemistry & math everyday at Coleman. A science background is mandatory for this profession. Environmental regulation is based on hazards to the environment so an understanding of math and science is critical to understand and demonstrate compliance to regulations."

Lorna Puntilo, Health and Safety Manager, admitted to the girls she is a "safety nut"! "In 1989 I began my career as an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional. My career path was chosen for me by the United States Air Force. Upon joining the military I was placed as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician due to my entrance test scores for science and math. During the next four years, I knew that in order to step into the role form Technician to Specialist I would have to become more diverse and learn as much as I could about the different areas of Environmental Health and Safety."

Project Engineer, Sherri Culp, shared her personal story of growing up in China and how that affected her career choice.
"Looking back the things that keep me going through the years are courage, passion, a positive attitude and an open mind. No matter which career path you take; have fun and never stop learning. This is what you need to succeed in life - it doesn't matter if you a considered a 'minority' ".

Sherri also showed the girls something she has been working on a Coleman. She brought in a new cooler she has been designing and showed the girls the insides of the types of coolers Coleman produces.
