University Grievance Board Member

Dear Professor

Thank you for serving as a member of the University Grievance Board. At this time, a grievance has been filed and has been determined by me to fall within the jurisdiction of the General Grievance Board Policy and Hearing Procedures. The General Grievance Board Policy and Hearing of the University Handbook states that the chair of the Board will appoint the hearing panel. As chair, I am asking that you serve as a member of this grievance-hearing panel. Your participation in this grievance hearing is an important service to the University. For further clarification of this service, please review section Appendix G1e and G 3 and 4 of the University Handbook for the hearing procedures.

The hearing could be held as early as Wednesday, April 7, 2004 but must begin by April 20, 2004. Please review the attached form and indicate those times when it would be impossible for you to serve. Usually hearing panels begin in the morning, last two consecutive days, and could go into the evening hours. Please be as flexible as possible.

Return the date form to me by March 5 so that we can designate a specific time for the hearing. Again, thank you for your participation on this committee and this hearing.
