About K-State Up 'Til Dawn
Up 'Til Dawn is a campus wide philanthropy that raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Through our mission, K-State Up 'Til Dawn commits to uniting the K-State community through empowerment under the shared goals of hope, compassion, and awareness in collaboration with St. Jude Childresn's Research Hospital and it's mission to fight and cure childhood catastrophic deseases. Do it for the Kids!
St. Jude provides treatment for children suffering with cancer and other catastrophic diseases without regard to the family's ability to pay. The operating cost of St. Jude is $1.5 million per day, and the hospital functions solely on donations. That is why it is very important to support this cause!
Since 2002, K-State has raised over $885,000.00 for St. Jude through our letter sending campaign and other fundraising events. Over 500 students and community members participate annually in Up 'Til Dawn's letter sending event. Our goal for 2010-2011 is to eclipse the million dollar mark for total funds raised.
Get excited for the Up 'til Dawn awareness week September 20th-26th.
Registration for team participation is due on September 28th but will also be accepted at the team captain meeting on October 5th at 6pm in the North Dining Room at the Union. Team registration is $50 and checks should be made out to "Up Til Dawn." The $50 goes towards making a wig for children with cancer and is called the "wig fund."
