The K-State Fraternity Experience

The Fraternity Experience: April 23-24, 2010

The K-State Fraternity Experience is an overnight program that will allow you to have fun with current members, learn what fraternity life has to offer, participate in community activies, and spend a day in the life of a K-State fraternity member.  You'll also see first hand how the K-State Fraternity Community lives our values. 

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED UNITL MARCH 2011!

Registration is a 2-step process that begins March 1st, 2010 and ends April 20th, 2010.

1) Register on-line by selecting clicking! You will pay with a credit card during the on-line registration process.  Please contact Greek Affairs at 785-532-5546 with any questions!

2) Select your overnight host chapter preference!  Participants will stay overnight at a host chapter.  You may identify up to 3 chapters that you want to serve as your host chapter for the overnight experience.  Additional chapter information to help with your preference selection is available at: http://www.k-state.edu/greek/fraternities.htm.   However, if you have no preference a host chapter will be assigned for you.

3:00-7:00 pm - check-in & chapter tours with your recruitment guides

6:00 pm - Dinner with host chapter

5:00 - 8:00 pm - Tours of the fraternity community & chapter houses

8:00 pm - Mid-Night - Community theme parties: 
Casino Night @ Phi Kappa Theta
Yard-Games @ Pi Kappa Alpha & Kappa Sigma
Outdoor movie
Fraternity X  Games @ Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Late Night Snacks

April 24th, 2010

12:00 am - Return to chapter houses

7:00 am – Breakfast with host chapter

8:00 am – Participants leave chapters for K-State Open House activities

Participant Expectations: 

Participants are required to meet the participant expectations for the Fraternity Experience.  The expectations are relatively simple such as attending all events and refraining from illegal activities, and participants will be expected to sign an agreement of behavior expectations and a release and waiver of liability when they check in.  You may review these documents by selecting the following links:  Release and Waiver of Liability & Participant Expectations & Guidelines. 

Check-in

Check-in is located in the parking lot directly west of the Old Stadium.  If interrupted by rain, check-in will be held on the 2nd floor of the K-State Student Union.  View Google Maps for the parking and check-in location and driving directions

Recruitment Guide

Each participant will be assigned to a Recruitment Guide who will serve as a guide throughout the Fraternity Experience.  Recruitment Guides will help participants' navigate K-State, fraternity recruitment, and ensure that paticipant needs are being met. Recruitment guides will stay with participants at host chapter and will ensure that the actions of members and chapters are consistent with the mission and purpose of values based organizations such as fraternities.

Cost

Cost for participants is $20.00 and includes Friday evening through Saturday morning meals.  Payment should be made on-line when participants register, but payment by check during the Fraternity Experience at check-in will also work.

Parking

Participants will park in the parking lot directly west of the Old Stadium which is also the location for check-in.

Overnight Accommodations

Participants will stay overnight at their host chapter.  Participants need to bring their own pillow, sleeping bag, toiletries and towel.  If special accommodations are needed, please make note on your registration form.
