Instructions for Students living off campus

The majority of Formal Membership Recruitment participants will have K-State Housing and Dinning contracts and will be living on campus.  Though taking part in Formal Membership Recruitment while living off campus is not a major challenge, it is important to note there is a increased expectations of personal responsibility.

It is important you plan to visit Sorority Formal Membership Recruitment check-in, on the second floor of the K-State Student Union, no later than 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15 and be prepared to meet her recruitment group at 7:45 p.m.

Expect a phone call from their Recruitment Guide in the days prior to recruitment to greet her and share with the participant where to meet for the gathering at 7:45 p.m.  Your Recruitment Guide will be assigned all women living off-campus and may have special instructions for your unique situation.

Moving into the chapter home after recruitment is not always an option as bed space is limited.  Please make plans for housing in the case the chapter you join does not have an open space or you do not join a chapter.

Parking during the week of recruitment

If you are planning on brining a car to campus and parking your car on campus, it is important that you purchase a K-State parking permit through K-State parking services on-line.  Parking on campus during the week of recruitment is no different that parking during the school year - all parking regulations must be followed.  Your permit will be available at Parking Services at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15.

Visit the K-State Parking Services website

Order your parking permit online by logging into you ISIS account.  Enter your eid and your password.  Select the marketplace option and then student parking permits.  To order, you need to know if you will live in the residence halls or off-campus, not an exact address or room number.

It is important to understand that you will not need a car during the week of recruitment.  All participants walk or are bussed to all recruitment events.  No participants are permitted to drive to any of the recruitment events.

Meals

We hope you'll join us on-campus for meals during the week of recruitment.  Participants without a K-State Dining plan may purchase a Dining card through Greek Affairs at recruitment check-in.  Meal cards entitle the holder to breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday, August 15 through Monday, August 22 (a total of 15 meals).  Meal cards must be paid for by cash or check (no credit card or check card) at the time of recruitment participant check-in (cost will be posted later in the summer).

Expectations

Living off-campus can allow for greater temptations.  Know all participants are held to the same behavioral and conduct standards for the week of recruitment.  Participants not upholding the expectations set fourth may be dismissed from the recruitment process.
