Academic selection standards
It is important that all participants understand the role academic marks play in the recruitment process. Sororities perform very well academically at K-State and the chapters expect their members to be a part of this high level of academic achievement.
Please note the following:
- Entering freshmen are recommended to have a 2.90 cumulative high school GPA.
- Upperclassmen and are recommended to have a 2.50 cumulative GPA.
- Women with suggested GPAs falling below this threshold should understand their options during the recruitment process may be severely limited and in fact some may be released from the process, meaning they may not be invited by any chapter to continue the recruitment process.
- Each potential new member should be aware that individual chapters will be following grade requirement guidelines set forth by their national organizations. Some of the guidelines may be greater than the GPAs listed above.
- At no time can a membership selection decision be overturned by the Panhellenic council or chapter.
- Membership selection and the business conducted in membership selection meetings is closed to members of the chapter or national sorority only as outlined by the individual sorority's policies.
- All women are welcome to take part in the recruitment process regardless of GPA.
All participants falling below the GPA requirements will be sent an e-mail ensuring they understand these expectations and minimum standards.
