Food
Meal times are listed on the schedule. They are not flexible, so please be on time. Participants living on campus will be given a meal card when they check into their residence hall that will be needed at every meal. Participants living off campus may purchase a Dining card through Greek Affairs at recruitment check-in (cost will be posted later in the summer). Meal cards entitle the holder to breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday, August 15 through Monday, August 22 (a total of 15 meals).
The days can be very long – participants should take care of themselves and eat appropriately. Please note the meal on Sunday evening is not provided with registration. Participants will be eating with their recruitment groups or on their own at local restaurants and should bring money for this meal.
Closing hours
The residence halls will close at 11:00 p.m. each night. Participants living on campus must be in their residence hall at this time. Failure to abide by this expectation may result in dismissal from the recruitment process.
You’ll be busy
Recruitment will demand much of each participant's time, and there won’t be many opportunities for contact with others. Attendance is required at all events. Participants should enjoy this time to meet new friends and learn more about what the K-State Greek community has to offer!
Elevators
Elevators get jammed at busy times. If participants are traveling only 2 or 3 floors, they should use the stairs. If participants do use the elevators, they must keep an eye on the load limits or we’ll be without elevator service.
Smoking
The residence halls and dining centers are smoke-free. Participants may smoke outside in designated areas only.
Alcohol and other substances
The use of alcohol and illegal substances is not permitted. Possession or use of these will subject participants to immediate dismissal from the recruitment process, campus judicial proceedings, and possible criminal penalties.
Stress
Recruitment is a busy time filled with important decisions. It is common for participants to feel stressed. The recruitment guide is a resource a participant may use to minimize stress. These guides are trained to discuss how a participant is feeling.
Refunds
Participants who voluntarily withdraw or are dismissed from the process will not receive a refund.
In general...
Recruitment is hectic, it’s rushed, and there are a lot of important decisions to make, but it’s also fun! The best prepared participants come with an open mind and are ready to meet new friends and to have a great experience!
