Check-in and move-in procedures
Check-in will take place on Sunday, August 16, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the second floor of the K-State Student Union.
During check-in, participants are able to park in the new K-State parking garage, just south of the K-State Student Union. Parking is $1.50 per hour in the garage. Arriving in Manhattan heading east on Anderson Avenue, turn left onto 17th Street, the parking garage will be on your right-hand side. Arriving in Manhattan heading west on Bluemont Avenue, keep straight onto Anderson Avenue at the edge of campus, turn right onto 17th Street, the parking garage will be on your left-hand side. Should we use an GPS navigation tool, the best address to enter is 1720 Anderson Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66506 - the parking garage is directly across the street from 1720 Anderson Avenue.
An optional parent and family orientation session is hosted at 3:00 p.m. and again at 5:00 p.m. in the K-State Student Union's Forum Hall. These sessions last about one-hour in length.
All participants will gather with their recruitment groups to begin their recruitment process at 7:45 p.m. Please say your goodbyes to parents and family members traveling with you prior to this time.
In August, a few days prior to recruitment, please check your e-mail for updates and more information on check-in procedures.
Living on campus
If you are living on campus, you will be moving into her actual residence hall room on Sunday, August 16. Residence halls open at 2:00 p.m.
It does not matter in what order you accomplish tasks,however all participants must be checked-in no later than 6:00 p.m. and moved in to her residence hall and prepared for the first recruitment activity at 7:45 p.m.
During move-in, your Recruitment Guide will make it a point to greet you in your residence hall. The Recruitment Guide will invite you to dinner that evening, however you should not feel obligated to attend. (The cost of Sunday night's meal is not covered in the participant registration fee.)
The Residence Hall staff will be available to help you get situated into your room. For more information on moving in to the residence halls, visit the K-State Housing and Dining website.
Some participants will find their roommates will not be taking part in the Sorority Formal Membership Recruitment process and therefore may not be moving into the residence hall quite as early. It is advised you make contact with your new roommate prior to moving in to make plans.
All residence hall staff will be prepared for you. A resident advisor will be on the floor. No student will be alone on her residence floor during the week of recruitment.
Understand the schedule for Sorority Formal Membership Recruitment will be very busy. You will spend very little time in your residence all.
Living off campus
If you are living off campus, you should plan to visit Sorority Formal Membership Recruitment check-in, on the second floor of the K-State Student Union, no later than 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16 and be prepared to meet her recruitment group at 7:45 p.m.
Students living off campus should expect a phone call from their Recruitment Guide in the days prior to recruitment to greet her and share with the participant where to meet for the 7:45 p.m. gathering.

Parking during the week of recruitment
If you are planning on brining a car to campus, it is important that you purchase a K-State parking permit through K-State parking services on-line. If you live on-campus, your permit will be available at your residence hall when you arrive Sunday, August 16. All parking permits are good beginning Sunday, August 16. Parking on campus during the week of recruitment is no different than parking during the school year - all parking regulations must be followed.
If you live off-campus and purchase a parking permit, your permit will be available at Parking Services.
Visit the K-State Parking Services website
Order your parking permit online by logging into you ISIS account. Enter your eid and your password. Select the marketplace option and then student parking permits. To order, you need to know if you will live in the residence halls or off-campus, not an exact address or room number.
It is important to understand that you will not need a car during the week of recruitment. All participants walk or are bussed to all recruitment events. No participants are permitted to drive to any of the recruitment events.
