Invitation from Graduate Student Council

Members of Kansas State University's Graduate Student Council (GSC) wish to provide a hearty welcome to new graduate students and their families. We hope we can be of assistance with questions you may have about becoming involved as a graduate student here at K-State. Because research points to the success and retention of students who become involved with campus activities, GSC would like to invite you to become involved.

Graduate Student Council is a group representing graduate students from all areas of study. Any Office of Student Activities and Services registered group whose membership is predominately graduate students is invited to be a part of this council. GSC provides workshops and forums to enhance student professional development. The Council promotes interdisciplinary activities to further our education outside our respective disciplines. A research forum is sponsored each spring.

Travel grant funding is available each semester to graduate student groups who send representatives willing to participate in GSC activities. These grants are used for the purpose of attending professional meetings and conferences. More information may be accessed at the GSC website below.

There are various ways to get involved in GSC. Every GSC member serves on a committee, ranging from planning the Ice Cream Social to allocating of travel grant funds. Members publicize GSC events and help maintain the web page. During the spring semester, GSC elects officers for the following academic year.
