8020 Committee
This committee meets periodically throughout the academic year to help steer lobbying and general activities to connect K-State to the State and Federal governments. The committee is made up of the Governmental Relations office, representatives from the SGA (the President, Head of the Senate, and the Governmental Relations committee chair), the Classified Senate, and Faculty Senate. Duties mainly consist of attending the meetings and representing the Graduate Student Council and relaying back requests for information or participation. There is a lot of opportunity for networking as they hold meetings with other student leaders in the fall, and commonly make one or two trips to the state legislature in the spring. Trips to the Federal level are taken by the Governmental Relations office but are discussed before hand to establish any particular approaches that should be taken to help Higher Education as a whole and K-State in particular.
