HOUSING AND DINING SERVICES
The Department of Housing and Dining Services offers a variety of affordable convenient options for KSU graduate students. The department is pleased to work with students and family members to accommodate special needs.

Approximately 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students live in K-State residence halls. Specialty options such as the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program, intensive study, academic cluster, and non-smoking floors provide living styles most often requested by graduate students today. The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program in Putnam Hall is a unique coeducational option. The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program (Residents Encouraging: Study, Peaceful Environment and Community Thinking) is more than a quiet hall; it creates an environment where community members contribute to each other. Intensive study floors are available to meet the graduate student's need for more intensive quiet hours in the residence halls. Academic cluster floors are designed for students in specific academic colleges to be assigned together on a residence hall wing or floor. These clusters provide convenience for students who wish to study together and facilitate specialized programming.

Each hall has a different character and varies in size and structure. Most rooms are double occupancy, although some private rooms, large triples and suites are available. Assignments are made on a first come, first serve basis. Early application and submission of a contact are encouraged if a graduate student prefers to be assigned to a specific hall such as Putnam (R.E.S.P.E.C.T. program) or Van Zile (suites only). Students pay for their residence hall room and board contract by semester, either by full payment or an installment plan. Three meal plan options are available. Be sure to check out these options and more when completing the residence hall room and board contact.

Student families and married couples may apply for one and two bedroom apartments, furnished or unfurnished, at Jardine Terrace. Early application is recommended since assignment is made on a first come, first serve basis. Single graduate and nontraditional students are welcome to apply and will be assigned after families and couples have received their assignments. These low-cost apartments are close to campus. Rent includes gas, water and trash. A deposit is required. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available.
