Your connection to K-State resources

K-State has an exciting opportunity for new students called the Guide to Personal Success (GPS) program. As a student in the GPS program you will benefit from having a personal guide to help you access information and resources when you need it. Students enrolled in any FYS course will have priority in being matched with a GPS guide, and if there aren’t enough guides, other students will be put on a waiting list.

College is an exciting new chapter in your life, but we also recognize the challenges that can come with your first year. K-State wants to make sure you have everything you need to help you successfully make the transition to K-State and make the most of your experience.

GPS Guides have extensive knowledge of university resources and will meet with you a few times each semester in the first year to assist in your transition to campus. Our Guides, in addition to wanting to help students, receive training on campus services and opportunities for students.

Utilizing your guide

Your GPS Guide will contact you to meet you and to become acquainted. Additionally, you will meet with your Guide approximately three times during the fall semester and twice during the spring semester.

While your GPS Guide will reach out to you at numerous points throughout your first year, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your guide when he or she can be of assistance to you. All guides have extensive knowledge of K-State resources and will be able to help you during your first year at K-State.

Resources on campus
