Duties of Officers and Chairs
President
- Prepare executive and chapter meeting agendas
- Call all executive and chapter meetings to order
- Assist in organizing, planning and implementation of all activities to ensure the continuation and overall success of the chapter
- Manage planning and implementation of a successful reception
- Compile CONCEPTS submissions
- Oversee all duties of the executive board
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
- Correspond with chapter via chapter listserv
Vice President
- Plan and organize campus awareness process
- Oversee work of committees formed by chapter
- Plan at least one social activity for the chapter and one social activity for the executive board per semester
- Assist president in the completion of duties
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Treasurer
- Manage all financial transactions of chapter
- Prepare a budget for each chapter activity
- Receive and distribute chapter funds
- Investigate sources of local funding or initiate fund-raising activities
- Report financial activity of chapter at each executive board meeting
- Submit an annual financial summary of expenditures to headquarters
- Assist the vice president with campus awareness planning
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Communications Secretary
- Record minutes of each executive board and chapter meeting and submit to the executive board, advisor, Regional Director, and Regional Student Representative
- Correspond with monthly updates to the Regional Director and Regional Student Representative
- Assist historian in archiving all chapter communications
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Membership Secretary
- Update Honorary Member listing and submit to headquarters
- Submit new member e-mail addresses to chapter listserv
- Keep a database of all activity interest surveys and submit to appropriate executive officers as needed
- Assist in planning Honorary Member activities
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Historian
- Document all chapter activities and prepare annual Chapter Yearbook
- Record all chapter activities on film
- Submit annual Chapter Yearbook to headquarters
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Local Service Chair
- Plan and implement all current local service activities
- Organize committees to assist in implementation of service activities
- Research new local service opportunities
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
National Service Chair
- Plan and implement Best of America national service project
- Plan and implement Ronald McDonald Pop Top regional service project
- Organize committees to assist in implementation of national service activities
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Academic Activities Chair
- Organize Outstanding GTA of the Year Honors Dinner
- Organize Sophomore Honors Reception
- Organize all Honorary Member activities
- Organize committees to assist in the implementation of academic activities
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Publicity Chair
- Act as liaison for Golden Key with Collegian advertising staff
- Submit bulletins for executive meetings, chapter meetings, committee meetings and activities
- Coordinate chalking and posting activities
- Archive all advertising activities for Chapter Yearbook
- Keep track of university posting regulations
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Public Relations Chair
- Act as liaison for Golden Key with Collegian and Manhattan Mercury reporting staff
- Prepare press releases about Golden Key activities and accomplishments and submit to Collegian and Manhattan Mercury
- Design and create chapter newsletter each semester
- Write monthly activity updates for Web site
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
Web Chair
- Update chapter Web site design and content
- Post monthly activity update, new pictures and executive and chapter meeting information
- Continually develop Web site
- Serve on a committee for at least one chapter activity
- Personally submit one CONCEPTS article per semester
