Graduate Students

Kabita Ghimire
Doctoral Student

Degrees:  M.A, 2006, Kansas State University.

Academic Interests:  Forestry, landscape ecology, advance spatial statistics and remote sensing.

Current Activities:  Application of GIS and remote sensing tools to develop a habitat based disease prediction model based on hantavirus study in Paraguay.

David Koch
Doctoral Student

Degrees:  M.S, 2002, Kansas State University.

Academic Interests:  Spatial and landscape epidemiology, the analysis of the spatial distributions of operating ecology and general aspects of the geography of Paraguay.

Current Activities:  Research project studying the distribution of hantavirus in rodents in Paraguay, includes understanding hantavirus spreads within rodent communities with the goal of understanding how to predict and consequently avoid outbreaks of hantavirus into the human population.

Rhett Mohler
Doctoral Student

Degrees:  M.A, 2006, Kansas State University.

Academic Interests:  Geomorphology, remote sensing, statistical modeling.

Current Activities:  Studying burning in the Flint Hills and its relationship with air quality using remote sensing and object based classification.
