Design a new main logo symbol for the Geographic Information Systems Spatial Analysis Laboratory (GISSAL), which will be used for the web site, software media labels, printed matter, letterhead, etc.
Everyone is invited to submit a design for this competition. However, only current KSU students are eligible to receive prize money. By virtue of submitting a design, all other contestants agree to donate any winnings to a KSU Geography student scholarship (a tax-deductable contribution).
Designs should be submitted to the GISSAL Director, Dr. Shawn Hutchinson, via email (jmshutch@gmail.com) or by dropping off the design on CD/DVD or USB drive to Dr. Hutchinson in Seaton Hall Room 164B .
High resolution print-ready scalable vector format such as portable EPS, SVG or Adobe Illustrator AI.
JPEG or PNG thumbnail with a resolution of 640 x 480.
Design concept / description.
Submitter's full name, mailing address, and email address.
GISSAL will acquire ownership of the winning logo by assignment of copyright, and the winning designer will disclaim any trademarks and without limitation all other rights related to the design. By submitting a logo for entry in the competition, the designer acknowledges that he/she is the person that made the logo and is its rightful owner. The designer also certifies that the logo does not infringe upon the rights of any third party and that it does not violate any copyright.
Designs will not be returned to the designers.
GISSAL accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged.
Any submission which does not satisfy the “Required Features” described in the Design Guidance section will not be considered.
Individuals may submit more than one
design for consideration.
