This is the Konza prarie long term ecological reseach (LTER) site. The tall grass prairie ecosystem is very much fire maintained and the dominant grassland species are largely dependent on the mycorrhizal fungi. Consequently. The projects that I have recently started include the effects of fire on the mycorrhizal fungal communities. The long term goals involve following seasonal dynamics of the mycorrhizal fungi. Ultimately, I would hope to establish an appreciation for the niché concept among fungi.

Currently, no results are available, but I hope to have more information on this web site as soon as the results start rolling in.
