Business Meeting Minutes
April 11, 2002
 
1) Tapes for the Pigliucci/Boyd debate and Dan Barker Speech are being dubbed off
	a) Tapes will sell for $3 for students and $5 for non-students to cover material costs.
	b) Freethought groups who order tapes from us will also be allowed to copy and distribute these tapes for non-profit use.
2) We are now officially a registered group for the Fall 2002 school year and we will have tables for the club expos and things like that.
3) SSA trip to Chicago update
	a) People who are going to Chicago via plane, may be re-imbursed by the university after the event
	b) If you plan to attend, contact Keiv and keep those reciepts so you can get some of your money back.
4) Flyers need to be made for Talat Rahmans speech: "Freedom Fighters or Terrorists? Reflections from a recent visit to Pakistan and the Afghan
    Border."
5) Meetings are staying on Thursday night next semester, same time, same place, most likely
6) T-Shirts
	a) there are 33-34 "smile" t-shirts left and more may be ordered to sell at the SSA conference.
	b) Also any new t-shirts that are made will most likely be pre-ordered to save costs unless the design is really good and sells very well.
	c) Any ideas for new t-shirt designs should be submitted to Nick Endicott or Sarah White.
7) Elections
	a) The constitution will be amended to place the night of officer elections during the third week of April or whenever enrollment is nearly
	    over to allow people who are interested in being leaders to know what their school schedules are like before they make to commitment to being an IF
	    officer. This will take effect next spring.
8) Events:
	a) Interest is expressed for a public viewing of the debate tape between Massimo Pigliucci and Greg Boyd
9) "Rally to Topeka" will happen April 18th at 11am-2pm at the Capitol building in Topeka, KS.
	a) This will be a protest against tuition increases in Kansas universities.
	b) Contact Jon Tvitie for car pool information at jontv@ksu.edu.
10) IF essentials packet is nearly complete.
	a) Keiv is almost finnished with a contact list
	b) Paul and Keiv are also working on a FAQ section.
11) Keiv is also working on the IF website to make it more user friendly.
12) Ideas for Future Plans Next School year (that are not set in stone yet):
	a) Soul Auction
	b) Reginald Finley, "America's Most Dangerous Black Atheist" to come to speak sometime in the fall.
	c) Annie Laurie Gaylor: to speak about either why women need freedom from religion or women without superstition sometime in the spring.
	d) Religiously Incorrect
	e) Freethought Concerts
	d) Comparitive Religions Series
	e) Comparitive Philosophy Series
	f) Intergroup discussions - informal meetings with other religious or philosophy clubs on campus
	g) Beverly Earls Law, to speak about humanism
