Business Meeting Minutes

March 6, 2003

1) IF President Tom Clarke calls the meeting to order.

2) It is discussed that IF has fallen out of the loop with the SSA

    a) It is known that the next SSA convention will be held in Berkley, California

    b) Sara Hupp is assigned to look into this matter, in the hopes that IF may organize another trip, later this year.

3) The IF open house table is discussed.

    a) It is decided that more "wholesome" (less shocking) methods will be used to attract people to the table.

4) The issue raised at the 2-27-03 meeting regarding the anti-war coalition is brought up.

    a) The issue is discussed in detail

    b) Many members state that IF could easily support this coalition without actually announcing IF as part of it.

    c) A vote on whether to join the coalition is held among the members present at the meeting, and all proxy votes are included.

        i) 1 vote for, 9 votes against

    d) Among the members present, it is unanimously decided that IF shall offer its support to the anti-war coalition, but will not announce itself

        as an official member of the coalition.

5) The "Penn & Teller's Bullshit" show regarding alternative medicine is watched.

6) It is announced that the next meeting will be held at 7:00 PM, in union room 207, the same time and location as this meeting.

7) The meeting is brought to a close by Tom Clarke.
