Jason MatthewsAmy MaukChelsea McCallKeiv SpareCody GartnerMeeting duration: 70 minutes 1) Officer Reports a) Amy i) is working on plans for Freethought Week: Living without Religion (April 9-13) ii) has scheduled Dan Barker to speak on April 9th (we will have to pay for his travel and hotel accommodations) iii) threw out a few other ideas for the week: - perhaps have Beverly Earles Law give a speech - have an IF info table in the Union - conduct a non-scientific survey of religious attitudes in the area - wear something tangible (a ribbon or pin) to show that you're a freethinker - last but not least: Superstition Bash on April 13th, which just happens to be Good Friday b) Chelsea i) announced that people in one of her classes had negative comments about the Soul Auction poster ii) said that David and Charlie had approached her about hosting the next RI iii) thinks we have too many leader positions c) Paul i) wants Keiv to contact Paige about the shirts ii) is going to put more of the responsibilities on other officers this semester iii) told Keiv to ask Wildcat Spirit about the cost (per shirt) of buying in increments of 20, 30, 40, and 50 d) Keiv i) said that he couldn't update the IF website because he didn't have the new password ii) will ask around about selling T-shirts on our website e) Jason i) is concerned about funding Dan Barker ii) announced that we have $187.50 in the IF account to spend f) John i) wants IF to tap its potential resources in the area2) Darwin Day a) It's on Monday, Feb. 12th. b) We have reserved Union 212 from 7:00-8:30 for a speaker, but we don't have one yet. c) Do we want just one speaker or a panel of three? d) People whom we discussed possibly asking to speak: i) Bruce Glymour ii) Keith Miller iii) Spencer Tomb iv) Tom Clarke e) Potential topics for discussion: i) historical impacts of evolution ii) new discoveries in the field3) Plans for next Wednesday a) Next Wednesday is the 5th Wednesday of the month, and we don't usually do anything then, but Paul wants to reserve a room and show a video of the Lowder/Fernandez Debate. b) The video is about 2 hours long, so we are going to try to schedule a room for about 6:30 PM.
