"Atheism and the Popular Media"

Internet Infidel, Clark Adams, to visit Kansas

MANHATTAN, KS - Clark Adams of Internet Infidels will give the multimedia presentation "Atheism and the Popular Media" on Friday, November 21, 2003 at the Kansas State Student Union. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theater. The event is sponsored by KSU Individuals for Freethought.

Clark Adams is the Public Relations Director for Internet Infidels, creators of the Secular Web, the most comprehensive freethought website on the Internet. He is also Vice President of the Humanist Association of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada, which was the American Humanist Association's 2002 Chapter of the Year, and was one of the founders of the Secular Coalition for America. For many years he has been the primary organizer of the Lollapalooza of Freethought each July at the Freedom from Religion Foundation's ever growing and popular Lake Hypatia Freethought Hall. Clark is active in many freethought, humanism, and related groups and has even appeared on CNN Headline News.

Mr. Adam's arrival is a joint venture between Individuals for Freethought, KU's Society of Open-Minded Atheists and Agnostics, and the Heartland Humanists. He will deliver his presentation at KSU on Friday night, at KU on Saturday night, and will meet with Heartland Humanists on Sunday. At KSU, the presentation is made possible by support from the Secular Student Alliance and KSU's A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications.

A reception hosted by the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications and KSU Philosophy Department will be held after the presentation in the KSSU Flint Hills room.
