How to join The Team

If you are a K-State Student or will become one, you have a spot on this team.

Here are some FAQ's with some useful answers:

- Where is the team located on Campus?

We are located in Nichols Hall rooms 102 and 103.  We have our team meetings on Mondays at 3:30pm in Nichols 311 and would love to talk to you about what the team has to offer.

- How do I meet with Craig or Bobby during my campus tour?

If you are thinking of joining the team or just want more information, ask the fine folks at K-State admissions to make a stop with the Forensics team a part of your day here on your Campus Visit.

- What are the events the team competes in during the season?

We compete in 11 different events.  You, the team member can compete in up to 6 events at any given tournament.

- How much time does it take to be on the team?

Well, as much time as you want to put into it.  We have 5 coaches on staff to work with you when you can throughout the week on your events.  In a perfect world, you would work with a coach for at least an hour per event, per week.  Plus there's the travel time.  The team goes to a tournament nearly every week from the middle of September through the beginning of March with Nationals in April, so we are pretty busy.

- Is there scholarship money for being on the team?

There is money for being on team.  If you are a student with a major in the College of Arts and Sciences, traveling regularly, and meeting the goals set for you by the coaching staff, you can receive scholarship money from the team up to $1000 for the academic year.

- How do I apply for a Scholarship?

You send your Forensics Resume (basically a list of your accomplishments in forensics), a copy of your ACT scores, a transcript, a letter of application, and two letters of recommendation (the letters can come from coaches, teachers, or people who have judged you a lot) to :
