This is the fourth call for oral and poster presentations for the Kansas Natural Resources Conference February 21-23, 2008 at the Airport Hilton in Wichita, Kansas. We invite oral and poster presentations by professionals and students on the theme:

Where Do Trees Belong in Kansas? The Role of Trees on the Kansas Landscape

 

We especially encourage presentations related to one of the five topics below:

  • Brush and woody debris-management, alternatives, costs, and benefits
  • Design and benefits of streambank and riparian corridor renovation and stabilization
  • Invasive species management-effects and control
  • Conservation planning-managing areas for multiple benefits
  • Positive and negative effects of trees on wildlife

or any other topics of interest to the conference attendees. Abstracts should be submitted electronically.

Abstracts are due December 7, 2007. All accepted presentations will need to be submitted electronically in PowerPoint by February 15, 2008.

Oral presentations should be one of two lengths: 12 minutes with an additional 3 minutes for questions, or 25 minutes with an additional 5 minutes for questions. Oral presentations are limited to Microsoft PowerPoint; no other formats will be accepted. Poster presentations should be no more than 4 by 4 feet. More details on specific poster formatting and submitting PowerPoint presentations will follow at a later date.
