K-State First offers four different core programs, each designed to help first-year students start their college careers off right. First-Year Seminar courses and learning communities provide new students with small, interactive learning environments, as well as a space to connect with classmates and professors. K-State First is also home for the University's common reading program (KSBN) and a one-on-one mentoring program (GPS) that connects new students with other members of the K-State family. We also host a smaller program, Beyond the Classroom, each semester that highlights a variety of engaging learning experiences that allow students the opportunity to interact with faculty and other campus leaders in a laid-back atmosphere.
