K-State History Presentation

Here's a history lesson about K-State that will make you sit up and be proud!  Did you know the "snooze alarm" on your bedside clock was invented by a K-Stater?  Learn K-State traditions and history that will open your eyes and serve as the foundation for our campus.  Tim Lindemuth, K-Stater magazine editor, will guide you as we gather information from the past to help us better understand today's K-State.

K-State Legacy Pinning Ceremony and Brunch

Celebrate your family’s K-State tradition! Our ceremony recognizes the commitment of K-Staters across generations and concludes with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and others pinning current K-State students as a symbol of shared loyalty to the purple and white. Family members who are not alumni are honored with K-Stater by Choice recognition.

Student Fee: $10   Family Member Fee: $15.00

Children's Carnival

Sponsored by the Interfraternity & Panhellenic Councils.

K-State fraternities and sororities host a children's carnival featuring moon bounce, games, and candy!

Family Day Lunch Special

Lunch is available at the K-State Student Union.  Choose from the options at the Food Court or try the lunch special outside on the Bosco Student Plaza.

Menu:  Mequite BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, bag of chips, bottled soda or water

Fee:  $5.50 per person, cash only; no reservations required

K-State Library Story Station

Bring your younger family members to Story Station at Hale Library.  Kids 10 and under can read books from our children's literature collection, have a snack, and color their own version of a book cover!

K-State Library Recipe Tour

Gather the 2008 edition of cards featuring recipes from our cookery collection while on a self-guided tour of beautiful Hale Library. Pick up a guide map and starter cards at the Reception Desk by the main entrance.  Library staff will be on hand to answer questions and help you find your way.  Plan on 30-40 minutes for the tour.

Air Force ROTC Open House

Air Force ROTC will be opening its doors to Cadet Family members, current students and their families, and future students.  Feel free to stop by and meet with the Cadre and Cadets and learn more about the Air Force ROTC or the Air Force in general.  Come visit General Myers’ old stomping ground!

Fraternity & Sorority House Tours

Vans depart every 15 minutes from the K-State Student Union with stops at each of our housed fraternity and sorority chapters.  Stop in for a tour or just drive by.

Look-A-Like Contest

Compete for bragging rights of the most similar pair.  Entries for siblings, mother-daughter, father-son, friends, or any other match-up are all welcome. Registration in advance is encouraged, 785-532-2222.

Put your K-State knowledge to work in this tournament-like setting.  Teams of four will compete for prizes by answering questions related to K-State, past and present. Registration in advance is encouraged, 785-532-2222.

Ice Cream Social

Enjoy free ice cream and view Study Abroad projects created by K-State students at this College of Architecture, Planning and Design sponsored event.

Family Time in Cat Town

Join K-State families for a barbeque before the K-State vs. Louisiana-Lafayette football game.  Family Time in Cat Town is an opportunity for families to visit with K-State special guests and meet other K-State families. Those who attend can also purchase a chance to win the $2,000 tuition drawing. This K-State Parents and Family Association sponsored event requires advanced registration at 785-532-2222 or pfa@k-state.edu.
