2017 Schedule of Events

Events for 2017 Family Day are being added to the schedule each week, so keep checking back to see the latest options for fun with your family!

Workout with your Student

Parents may utilize the Chester E. Peters Recreation Center when accompanied by their student on October 13th from 8am-8pm free of charge.  Parents will need to sign a waiver prior to use of the Recreation Center on the day of their visit.

Union Renovation Celebration Dedication Event

Union Renovation Dedication Celebration includes a balloon drop with 2017 balloons - each containing a free prize! Music, food, and student comments will round out the event. Union Ambassadors will be providing building tours from 2-4pm.

Parents may utilize the Chester E. Peters Recreation Center when accompanied by their student on October 14th from 8am-close free of charge. Parents will need to sign a waiver prior to use of the Recreation Center on the day of their visit. **Please note that the Recreation Center will close 6 hours prior to the home football game kickoff due to football game day parking. The football game will impact the Recreation Center's hours of operation!**

K-State Student Union Tours

Enjoy a tour of the recently completed, 32 million dollar Union Renovation Project.

Experience the Newly Renovated K-State Student Union

Union Ambassadors will have an information table for parents and students to learn about the K-State Student Union, the recent updates to the facility, and go on building tours. We are also going to have an art gallery exhibit documenting the 'YourUnion' Renovation that will tentatively be from Oct 7-21.

Latin Jazz Band

Hear the musical stylings of the ever-talented K-State Latin Jazz Band. Take a seat and bob your head up and down OR get up and dance!

K-State Legacy Pinning Ceremony & Breakfast

Celebrate your family's K-State tradition! The K-State Parents and Family Association will host this traditional celebration of loyalty to K-State. The ceremony recognizes the commitment of K-Staters across generations and concludes with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and others pinning current K-State students as a symbol of shared loyalty to the purple and white. Family members who are not alumni are honored with K-Stater by Choice recognition. Participants will enjoy a delicious brunch followed by the program and ceremony.

2 Hours Prior to Kick-off

 K-State Family Tailgate (formerly known as Family Time in Cat Town) 

The K-State Parents and Family Association is pleased to host this 12th annual event, formerly known as Family Time in Cat Town, on Saturday, October 14th. Every K-State parent, family member, and student is invited to this event, sponsored by Hy-Vee and Payless ShoeSource. 

Held in conjunction with Family Day, this casual pre-game event begins two hours prior to kick-off of the K-State vs. TCU game. The event will feature great food, the chance to purchase tickets to win $2,000 in FREE tuition for your student, fantastic door prizes, a fun-filled tailgate experience area, a photo booth, a visit from Willie the Wildcat, and the opportunity to meet and interact with other parents, families, and K-State administrators.

NOTE:  This event has moved to an indoor location at the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex.
