The 2015 Family Day is almost here! We will continue to update the schedule and times as more details become available.

September Stroll in the Gardens

Come experience The Gardens during their peak! Visit with students and Friends of The Gardens who will be on-hand to answer questions, and provided you with some light refreshments. The entire family is invited to enjoy this come-and-go event.

Recreational Services -
Parent/Student Workout

Parents of K-State students may be admitted free to the Chester E. Peters Recreation Center when accompanied by their student for the opportunity to workout and use the many different features of the Rec Center on Friday, September 18 from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Students must present their valid student ID card and parents must show a photo ID.

Cost: This event is free of charge. K-State student must have student ID and parent must have photo ID.

5th Annual Spirit of Leadership -
Staley School of Leadership Studies

The Staley School of Leadership Studies invites you and your guests to this signature alumni and friends event. Join us for a fun and celebratory evening as we welcome back alumni, connect current students, friends and donors, and honor our Michael C. Holen Leader-in-Residence! A social with hors d'oeuvres and drinks starts at 6:30 pm and the formal program starts at 7:30 pm.

Deans and Donuts

This is a meet-and-greet with a sweet treat. Meet our deans and faculty members, learn about the power of an Art & Sciences education, and pick up a complimentary donut from Varsity Donuts (along with other goodies) in a casual setting as we gear up for game day. This is a come-and-go event, with performances by ArtSci students and comments from Dean Peter Dorhout scheduled throughout the morning. K-State’s popular a cappella ensemble, In-A-Chord, will perform at 9:30, formal comments from Dean Peter Dorhout will be at 10 a.m., and Chemistry students will perform a magic show at 10:30. We’re looking forward to welcoming our students and their families into the K-State ArtSci family!

Residence Hall and Jardine Apartment Tours

Are you a K-State Alumni and former resident of one of our residence halls or apartments? Have you ever been curious as to what your former home looks like? Come see the changes in our facilities. Staff will be at each front desk to provide tours of our residence halls and tours of the Jardine Tower are also available at the Jardine Apartments main office in the tower building.

From Our Family to Yours

Explore decades of K-State tradition and history with Kansas State University Libraries! Find your family members in digitized Royal Purple yearbooks, browse cookbooks and recipes from our incomparable cookery collection, and get photo archiving tips from our preservation experts. Visiting with the kids? Don’t miss our activities for the younger set.

Additionally, the Morse Department of Special Collections hosts the exhibition “Eclectica” and displays rare and extraordinary items that you won't find anywhere else.

Historical tours of Hale Library are available at 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.

K-State Legacy Pinning Ceremony & Brunch

Celebrate your family's K-State tradition! The K-State Parents and Family Association will host this traditional celebration of loyalty to K-State. The ceremony recognizes the commitment of K-Staters across generations and concludes with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and others pinning current K-State students as a symbol of shared loyalty to the purple and white. Family members who are not alumni are honored with K-Stater by Choice recognition.

Participants will enjoy a delicious brunch followed by the program and ceremony.

Here's a history lesson about K-State that will make you sit up and be proud! Did you know the "snooze alarm" on your bedside clock was invented by a K-Stater? Learn K-State traditions and history that will open your eyes and serve as the foundation for our campus. Tim Lindemuth, retired editor of the K-Stater magazine, will guide you as we gather information from the past to help us better understand today's K-State.

Family Time in Cat Town

The K-State Parents and Family Association is pleased to host the 10th annual Family Time in Cat Town on Saturday, September 19, 2015! Every K-State parent, family member and student is invited to this event, sponsored by Hy-Vee and Payless Shoesource.

Held in conjunction with Family Day, this casual pre-game event begins two hours before kick-off of the K-State vs. Louisiana Tech game. The event will feature great food, the chance to purchase tickets to win $2,000 in FREE tuition for your student, fantastic door prizes, a fun-filled tailgate experience area, a photo booth, a visit from Willie the Wildcat and the opportunity to meet and interact with other parents, families and K-State administrators.
