The 28th annual OPUS Band Competition enables selected amateur, unsigned bands to perform in front of a college audience and gain exposure. Join us on Bosco Plaza for an fun and exciting evening filled with original work from local bands!

Comedian & Magician Michael Kent

Join us in Forum Hall for an evening of laughs with comedian and magician, Michael Kent! Michael tours nationwide primarily performing a stand-up comedy-style magic show at more than 90 colleges and universities a year. He was named the 2014 Entertainer of the Year by Campus Activities magazine and Magician of the Year by APCA.

K-State Legacy Pinning Ceremony & Brunch

Celebrate your family's K-State tradition! The K-State Parents and Family Association will host this traditional celebration of loyalty to K-State. The ceremony recognizes the commitment of K-Staters across generations and concludes with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and others pinning current K-State students as a symbol of shared loyalty to the purple and white. Family members who are not alumni are honored with K-Stater by Choice recognition.

Participants will enjoy a delicious brunch followed by the program and ceremony.

Space Painter Brandon McConnell

Join the Union Program Council on Bosco Student Plaza to watch "Space Painter" Brandon McConnell at work! Brandon will be creating breath taking paintings with some simple tools and spray paint. You are guaranteed to be intrigued and amazed by his talents!

Family Time in Cat Town

The K-State Parents and Family Association is pleased to host the 9th annual Family Time in Cat Town on Saturday, September 27, 2014! Every K-State parent, family member and student is invited to this event, sponsored by Hy-Vee and Payless Shoesource.

Held in conjunction with Family Day, this casual pre-game event begins two hours before kick-off of the K-State vs. University of Texas El Paso game. The event will feature great food, the chance to purchase tickets to win $2,000 in FREE tuition for your student, fantastic door prizes, a fun-filled tailgate experience area, a photo booth, a visit from Willie the Wildcat and the opportunity to meet and interact with other parents, families and K-State administrators.

Building Tours

The Leadership Studies Building will be open at 9 a.m. and will close two hours prior to game time. Feel free to bring your family to the building and give them a tour! Leadership Studies faculty and staff will also be around to meet families and talk about the building and programs.

Deans and Donuts

This is a meet-and-greet with a sweet bonus. Meet our deans and faculty members, learn about the power of an Art & Sciences education, and pick up a complimentary donut from Varsity Donuts (along with other goodies) in a casual setting as we gear up for game day.

This is a come-and-go event, with performances by ArtSci students and comments from Dean Peter Dorhout scheduled throughout the morning. K-State’s popular a cappella ensemble, In-A-Chord, will perform at 9:30, formal comments from Dean Peter Dorhout will be at 10 a.m., and Chemistry students will perform a magic show at 10:30.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our students and their families into the K-State ArtSci family!
